United Airlines has been recognized by Air Transport World, a monthly magazine serving the global airline and commercial air transport manufacturing communities for more than 50 years, with the designation of Eco-Airline of the Year for United’s decarbonization efforts. According to United, the airline has committed to purchase more sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) than nearly the rest of the world’s airlines combined.

“We’ll need the world to come together to solve this global problem and that’s why we created the Eco-Skies Alliance to allow like-minded companies and individuals to help us invest in even more sustainable aviation fuel,” stated United.

According to the airline, this recognition by Air Transport World is “just another proof point that we’re leading the pack on climate change.”
