Samsung E&A, a total-solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced Oct. 29 its intention to collaborate with Honeywell to explore opportunities to drive technology advancement, boost energy efficiency and expand collaborative efforts in the global energy sector.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU), announced at the 9th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the two companies plan to combine their expertise and experience to advance technology solutions in the areas of carbon capture and storage (CCS), waste-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technologies, and energy-efficiency improvements.
This latest agreement builds upon the strong synergies between the two companies as they continue to expand collaborations globally.
“This strategic collaboration with Honeywell, together with our ongoing initiatives, reaffirms Samsung E&A’s strong commitment to advancing innovation and sustainability across the global energy industry,” said Hong Namkoong, the president and CEO of Samsung E&A.
Anant Maheshwari, Honeywell’s president and CEO of global regions, added, “Achieving a future energy industry with the right economics, security and emissions management requires a broad range of innovative technologies across the entire energy value chain. This new collaboration with Samsung E&A enables us to help meet this need by combining our respective best-in-class solutions and deep industry expertise to identify opportunities that support a more robust, efficient energy sector for the long-term.”
Samsung E&A said it has been actively securing new products for the energy transition and diversifying its global markets.
The company added that it continues to develop sustainable businesses and secure future growth engines, transforming into a total solution provider that builds a better, lower-carbon future with advanced technology.
This agreement is expected to drive additional ongoing collaboration between Samsung E&A and Honeywell, serving as a catalyst for innovation and progress across the global energy ecosystem, according to Samsung E&A.
This builds upon existing collaborations between Honeywell and Samsung E&A, including an agreement to provide Honeywell’s advanced solvent carbon capture (ASCC) technology for hard-to-abate energy projects worldwide, as well as a recently formed strategic SAF technology alliance to drive end-to-end production of SAF from biomass and municipal waste, with Johnson Matthey and Gidara Energy.
