Eco-Energy announced Oct. 15 that it has begun operations at its newly built feedstock-distribution facility located in Newton, Iowa.
The facility will provide Marathon Petroleum the ability to aggregate renewable feedstocks such as distillers corn oil, soybean oil, animal fats and used cooking oil from throughout Iowa for outbound distribution to the rapidly growing renewable diesel space.
The Newton site is equipped with 32 tank-car offload spots, 1.2 million gallons of dedicated feedstock storage, and high-speed truck offloading and rail-loading capability.
The facility will be accessible by the Iowa Interstate Railroad ensuring outbound product can be directly distributed by all North American Class I railroads.
“We are excited to have completed this renewable-feedstock project and look forward to being an active member of the Newton community,” said Chadwick Conn, Eco-Energy’s chief operating officer.
“This project again highlights our team’s ability to collaborate, align incentives and generate clear value-add throughout the supply chain,” Conn added.
Eco-Energy’s core business is in the marketing and transportation of biofuels and natural gas across the U.S. and abroad.
