Missouri Soybeans welcomes 6 new board members

Missouri Soybeans hosted its annual joint Missouri Soybean Association and Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council board meetings in July with members spanning the Show-Me State.

“The selection and induction of new board members is not to be understated,” said Gary Wheeler, Missouri Soybeans CEO and executive director.

“Through a stakeholder selection process and word-of-mouth support of these individuals, I rest assured knowing both of our organizations are in the hands of impactful soybean servants,” Wheeler added.

The four members to join the MSA board include Daniel Carpenter, Richmond (District 2); Clint Prange, Shelbyville (District 3); Tory Meyr, Jackson (District 7); and Ryan Wilson, Portageville (District 7).

“It’s rewarding to watch the mission of MSA prosper with our new board members,” said Matt Wright, MSA president.

“The soybean industry continues to thrive because of these leaders who have volunteered to serve and shape the sector through pivotal leadership and political engagement,” he said.

Additionally, two members were welcomed to the list of farmer-directors for MSMC.

Those farmer-leaders include Brad Arnold, Harrisonville (District 4); and Trent Haggard, Kennett (District 7).

“The responsibility to maximize the Missouri soybean farmers’ profitability is not a task to be taken lightly,” said Aaron Porter, MSMC chairman.

“I’m confident Brad and Trent will lead with this mission in mind and work to strategically invest the farmer’s dollar to improve innovation,” Porter added.

The Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council is a statewide, farmer-led organization focused on improving opportunities for Missouri soybean farmers through a combination of research, outreach, education and market-development efforts through the soybean checkoff.

The Missouri Soybean Association is a statewide membership organization working to increase the profitability of Missouri soybean farmers through advocacy and education efforts across the state.
