Mabanaft to change name, rebrand its group of companies

After more than 75 years of successful company history, the Mabanaft group announced May 15 that it is repositioning itself.

Through a comprehensive rebranding, the group of companies emphasized its transformation into a future-oriented energy provider, placing an even greater focus on customer orientation, innovations for the energy transition, and progress at the core of its business.

“Our new brand marks an exciting new chapter—more than just a name or logo, it stands as a strong symbol of our commitment to a secure, future-ready energy supply,” said Jonathan Perkins, CEO of Mabanaft, which will soon be known as MB Energy. “Building on our deep roots in Germany and decades of proven expertise in Europe and beyond, our flexible energy solutions and storage infrastructure ensure we can reliably serve our customers today while being well placed as their needs evolve. With this bold step forward, we are confidently shaping the future of our company and the markets we serve.”

The Mabanaft group has been operating under more than 50 different brands for many years and will now unify all individual brands under the MB Energy logo, including the brand “Oiltanking Germany, Hungary and Denmark” as “enport-by MB Energy.”

The group said it is coming together and evolving into an even stronger, customer-focused provider of energy solutions for today and tomorrow.

The new brand identity reflects this transformation and highlights what the company said is its core competencies: reliable and forward-looking energy supply with tailored solutions for both retail and business customers, as well as decentralized storage solutions.

Decentralized energy supply plays a crucial role in the energy transition and energy security.

Through the storage systems of Oiltanking Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG operating under the new brand enport-by MB Energy and its extensive experience in energy and fuel trading, MB Energy group said it ensures stable energy supply and distribution.

In doing so, the group of companies stated it actively contributes to energy security and supports industries, businesses and households with tailored energy solutions, including forward-looking, lower-carbon options.

“With the new brand, we are combining our strengths to reliably and comprehensively supply our customers with energy today and in the future,” said André Cardoso, MB Energy’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “I am proud to see how our company is coming together even more closely to shape the future of energy supply.”

Perkins added, “We have a history spanning over 75 years that we are proud of, and our focus is firmly on the future—on ensuring a secure energy supply that is future oriented.”

MB Energy said it will present itself with a new logo, fresh design and a clear vision for the future.

The new brand identity will be reflected across all communication channels, emphasizing the company’s commitment to secure and sustainable energy supply worldwide.

In the next phase of the rebranding, the company WESTFA and the individual companies within the Petronord Group will follow accordingly to the new brand MB Energy.

Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, MB Energy is an independent, integrated energy company with operations across Europe, the U.S. and Singapore. 

The company engages in the import, storage, distribution and marketing of petroleum products, chemicals and biofuels.
