The Illinois Soybean Association is welcoming a new era of biodiesel work in Illinois and recently rebranded its biodiesel program, rolling out new logos for both ISA Biodiesel and the B20 Club. The brand redesign reflects the new audiences that ISA is now targeting in its biodiesel efforts including farmers, communities, urban audiences and lawmakers. The rebrand represents how ISA’s biodiesel campaign continues to evolve and bring the message of a cleaner, more sustainable fuel that’s available now into new conversations. “Biodiesel is an issue of critical importance to the state’s soybean industry, the use of B20 and higher could add around one dollar to the market price of soybeans,” said Ron Kindred, ISA Government Relations Committee chair and District 9 director. “We’ve been promoting biodiesel and working with communities, fleets and retailers for some time and we’ve made great headway. Now, we are bringing even more audiences into the conversation, and our fresh, new look marks this new era of biodiesel optimism.”

The biodiesel campaign will continue to promote the B20 Club brand and effort, too. The ISA checkoff program collaboration with the American Lung Association, the B20 Club, recognizes Illinois-based organizations with strong commitments to run fleets on biodiesel blends of 20 percent or greater. “The B20 Club in particular includes various industries that are sold on the quality and environmental benefits of using B20 fuel in their equipment,” Kindred said. “Municipalities like the Village of Carol Stream and partners like the Chicago Park District have made a real impact using biodiesel, and their success helps us reach those new audiences here in Illinois and tell a great, sustainable fuel story.”

This year, biodiesel is becoming active on both the policy and farmer-facing fronts and the campaign has many plans in store for 2021 and beyond. ISA plans to launch additional creative materials with a farmer focus, in addition to continuing to advance biodiesel legislation in the statehouse.
