Howard Energy Partners adds Mawer, chairman of Calumet, to its board of directors

Howard Energy Partners announced April 12 that Steve Mawer was appointed to its board of directors effective April 4.

Mawer currently serves as chairman of the board of ClimeCo Corp., an environmental commodities development and management company.

He is also the current chairman of the board and former CEO of Calumet Specialty Products Partners, a manufacturer of specialty products for customers in various consumer-facing and industrial markets as well as being a producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel through its subsidiary Montana Renewables.

Additionally, Mawer serves on the board of directors for Zenith Energy, a bulk liquid-storage company focused on safer and more sustainable liquid-storage solutions.

He previously spent almost 15 years as a senior member of the Koch Industries management team, most recently as president of supply and trading.

Prior to joining Koch, Mawer spent nine years in commodities trading, risk management and refining operations.

In late 2022, Howard Energy Partners announced that the company recapitalized its financial commitments with Alberta Investment Management Corp., one of Canada’s largest and most diversified institutional-investment managers.

Howard Energy Partners plans to continue its pursuit of critical midstream infrastructure as well as low carbon-intensity projects like hydrogen production facilities, renewable diesel logistics facilities, and carbon capture and sequestration projects at key locations along the Gulf Coast.
