Golden Island Pte. Ltd. announced in early December that it has successfully completed its first and second B100 biofuel bunker deliveries to Maersk in October and November in Singapore.

The company said the deliveries marked a significant milestone in its roadmap to support the decarbonization of global shipping.

Golden Island used Golden Sirius, one of the four IMO Type II chemical tankers owned and operated by Golden Island.

Golden Sirius delivered 900 and 2,900 metric tons of 100 percent used cooking oil methyl esters (UCOME) to the containerships Estelle Maersk and Maersk Amazon.

This is only achievable through strong partnerships between Maersk Line and Golden Island, the company stated.

With these successful collaborations, Golden Island said it will continue to strengthen its capabilities to provide low-carbon solutions to global clients and support Singapore’s ambitions to create a multifuel bunkering hub.
