Dekker switches to 100% renewable diesel for all outbound transport in company fleet

Dutch countertop maker Dekker is now using 100 percent renewable diesel, also known as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO100), for all outbound transport in the Dekker fleet as of June 1.

The decision follows a successful 2025 pilot program the company launched with a major customer.

“At Dekker, sustainability is not a one-off project but an ongoing process,” the company stated. “Initiatives do not always originate internally. Sometimes, it is a customer or supplier who provides the decisive push.”

With this switch, Dekker is achieving a CO2 savings of over 1 million kilograms per year—a significant reduction across the entire supply chain.

The company said this measure aligns with the family business’ broader ambition to achieve climate-neutral operations.

“We also want to make the decision to use HVO100 structurally for all outbound freight transport visible,” Dekker stated.

As such, all trucks will feature a recognizable logo that clearly communicates the choice for HVO transport to customers and partners.

Dekker added that, in 2026, its first pilots involving electric transport will begin, allowing the company to gain experience with “zero-emission solutions” for the future.

“In this context, HVO100 serves explicitly as a transition fuel—a practical and cost-efficient alternative for the period during which fully electric transport is not yet feasible everywhere,” the company stated. “That is what we are constantly looking for. How can we make the greatest impact within our capabilities? By making smart choices, we can produce and deliver our kitchen countertops as sustainably as possible, without compromising on reliability or security of supply.”

With the switch to HVO100, Dekker said it once again underscores that sustainability does not stop at the product itself but also extends to logistics and supply-chain collaboration.

“By investing in concrete solutions together with customers and transport partners, the company is working step by step toward further CO2 reduction and a future-proof delivery model,” Dekker stated.
