Chimbusco Pan Nation announced in early May a landmark achievement in sustainable marine-fuel supply, completing the largest single B100 marine biodiesel bunkering operation ever recorded in China.
CPN successfully delivered 2,500 metric tons of B100 marine biodiesel to a vessel in Hong Kong May 2, setting a new national record.
As the only fully compliant B100 supplier in Hong Kong, this delivery also represented an 89 percent reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions compared to conventional marine fuel, underscoring the real and measurable impact of choosing compliant, certified biofuel supply.
This delivery was also the largest single operation completed since CPN officially launched its B100 marine biodiesel supply service in Hong Kong in January, marking a significant milestone in the growth of the service and a strong validation of market demand for pure biodiesel in the region.
The operation was completed by CPN’s bunker tanker Guo Si, which has been fully upgraded in compliance with the IMO IBC Code and Hong Kong Cap. 413E.
As the only bunker tanker in Hong Kong holding Type II certification dedicated to B100 marine biodiesel operations, CPN said Guo Si is uniquely positioned to handle pure biofuels safely and compliantly.
This operation reflects the rigorous standards required for the handling of B100 marine biodiesel and underscores the importance of choosing fully compliant suppliers when sourcing marine fuels, particularly alternative and low-carbon energy solutions.
CPN said it remains dedicated to driving innovation and sustainability in marine-fuel supply, working toward a future where alternative fuels are a standard part of everyday operations across the global shipping industry.
