Chimbusco Pan Nation announced Jan. 7 the official launch of its B100 marine biodiesel supply service in Hong Kong, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the city’s renewable marine-energy infrastructure.
The launch follows the successful technical upgrade of CPN’s bunker tanker, Guo Si, which has become Hong Kong’s first Type II certified bunker tanker dedicated to B100 marine biodiesel operations.
This development represents a key step forward in CPN’s decarbonization roadmap, building on the company’s commencement of B30 marine biofuel supply last April.
Through the comprehensive upgrade of Guo Si, carried out in full compliance with the International Maritime Organization’s IBC Code and Hong Kong Cap. 413E, CPN said it has established the specialized infrastructure required for the safe, reliable and compliant handling of pure marine biofuels.
The upgraded Guo Si is currently the only Type II certified bunker tanker in the region approved for B100 marine biodiesel supply, positioning CPN at the forefront of marine biofuel readiness in Hong Kong.
According to CPN, the launch underscores its commitment to delivering practical and advanced decarbonization solutions for the maritime industry.
“By combining regulatory certainty, operational reliability and dedicated infrastructure, CPN is enabling shipowners and operators to advance their sustainability objectives with confidence,” the company stated.
