BBGI Public Company Ltd. announced Aug. 24 that it is advancing a collaboration with BioVeritas LLC to evaluate the production of renewable feedstocks for low-carbon fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Thailand, leveraging the country’s renewable resources and established biobased industry.

The collaboration, established under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two companies, will jointly evaluate the technical and economic viability of converting locally available renewable materials into KEYtones™, BioVeritas’ renewable feedstock designed for use in the hydrotreated esters and fatty acids (HEFA) process for the production of SAF and other renewable fuels.

A ceremony in Bangkok, attended by senior executives from BBGI and BioVeritas, marked the collaboration and the companies’ shared interest in developing new pathways to create value from Thailand’s renewable resources.

“Thailand has a strong foundation in agriculture, biobased industries and renewable fuels,” said Daechapon Lersuwanaroj, the president and CEO of BBGI. “We see an opportunity to create greater value from the country’s renewable resources by combining our capabilities with innovative technologies.”

Timothy Cesarek, the executive chairman of BioVeritas, said, “We are excited to deepen our collaboration with BBGI, a recognized leader in Thailand’s renewable energy sector. Thailand’s abundant biomass resources, combined with our proven BioVeritas Process™, offer a new horizon for proven HEFA technology—expanding the feedstock slate available to producers and simplifying HEFA processing along the way. We look forward to working alongside BBGI to unlock the value of these renewable resources and contribute to Thailand’s sustainable fuels ecosystem.”

The collaboration brings together BBGI’s biofuel manufacturing experience and Thailand’s renewable resources with BioVeritas’ technology platform to explore value-creation opportunities and support the development of Thailand’s sustainable fuels ecosystem.
