2021 NEFI Legends Awards Dinner to honor women leaders in energy industry
At its annual Legends Awards Dinner Sept. 14, the National Energy & Fuels Institute intends to pay special homage to women’s suffrage and the 19th amendment, which passed in 1920, granting women the right to vote in U.S. elections.
The organization says it planned to mark the 100th anniversary last year, but the popular awards ceremony was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The dinner, part of NEFI’s larger Heating & Energizing America Trade (HEAT) Show taking place this year at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Sept. 13-15, is intended to “support those individuals who have made an indelible impact on our industry,” NEFI stated. “This year, there will be an extra-special twist on this always special occasion.”
The twist is that NEFI’s award winners in 2021 is entirely comprised of women leaders in the energy industry.

Allison Heaney, president, Skaggs-Walsh (New York)
