January exports of biodiesel were only 3.864 million gallons, down from 19.4 million gallons in December and falling sharply from 47.2 million gallons in January 2022, or nearly 92 percent.

The vast majority of this fuel, or 3.234 million gallons, went to Canada.

Peru received approximately 462,000 gallons of U.S. biodiesel in January.

The U.S. exported about 84,000 gallons of biodiesel to Singapore during the month.

Germany and Norway each received approximately 42,000 gallons of U.S. biodiesel.

The U.S. imported slightly more than 39 million gallons of biodiesel in January, up 140 percent from January 2022 volumes of 16.296 million gallons, and up more than 9 percent from December volumes of 35.742 million gallons.

For the second month in a row, U.S. imports of biodiesel from Germany surpassed those from Canada.

The U.S. imported slightly more than 18 million gallons of biodiesel from Germany in January while Canada shipped nearly 10.6 million gallons of biodiesel to the U.S.

Spain sent nearly 6.3 million gallons of biodiesel to the U.S. in January.

Other U.S. biodiesel imports during the month came from Italy (2.9 million gallons) and South Korea (1.26 million gallons).

U.S. renewable diesel imports from Singapore in January remained consistent with prior months.

Singapore shipped 26.586 million gallons of renewable diesel to the U.S. in January, on par with the 26.544 million gallons received in January 2022 and down slightly from the 28.14 million gallons imported into the U.S. in December.
