Spain-based UCO Trading, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, announced its primary sponsorship of the Mriders team as it embarks on the challenging expedition of “The Real Way to Dakar” in January.

“This exciting collaboration is set to make a powerful statement about sustainability and environmental responsibility,” UCO Trading stated.

One of the standout features of the Mriders team’s journey will be its commitment to sustainability by exclusively using 100 percent biofuel (either biodiesel or renewable diesel, both of which will always be produced from waste feedstocks) supplied by UCO Trading partners.

“This innovative initiative not only showcases UCO Trading’s dedication to environmental stewardship but also underscores the importance of utilizing clean and renewable energy sources,” UCO Trading stated.

UCO Trading partners with advanced biofuels producers in Portugal, France, Spain and in some regions of Africa, working together to ensure a seamless supply chain of high-quality biofuel with traceability for its feedstock.

“This collaboration represents a shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of ecofriendly solutions and promoting sustainable practices in the motorsports industry,” UCO Trading stated.

The Mriders team is not just aiming to participate in “The Real Way to Dakar,” according to UCO Trading, but it is also doing it with a mission.

The goal is to complete the entire journey using 100 percent biofuel, demonstrating that sustainability and high performance can go hand in hand.

“UCO Trading is excited to be part of this groundbreaking endeavor that challenges conventional norms and promotes a greener future,” UCO Trading said.

By opting for biobased diesel fuel sourced from UCO Trading and its partners, the Mriders team is contributing to a significant reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The use of advanced biofuels will result in an estimated 80 percent reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional fuels.

This milestone emphasizes the environmental impact that can be achieved through strategic partnerships and conscious choices.

“We are delighted to support the MRiders team in their quest for ‘The Real Way to Dakar,’” said Luis Poch, CEO of UCO Trading. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to advancing sustainable solutions and promoting a greener future. By supplying 100 percent biodiesel, we hope to inspire positive change and demonstrate the viability of renewable energy sources in the world of motorsports.”

Mriders team member Miguel Ferreira Silva added, “Our collaboration with UCO Trading is a game-changer. We believe in pushing the boundaries of what is possible while minimizing our environmental impact. Running on 100 percent biofuel, we aim to set a new standard for sustainable racing and showcase the potential of clean energy in the motorsports industry.”

UCO Trading operates in the European and American markets to sell more than 60,000 metric tons per year of waste generated in 32 countries all over the world.
