Startup plans 2 greenfield SAF projects in Missouri, California
Indaba Renewable Fuels LLC, a startup run by president and CEO Geoff Hirson, announced plans to develop two greenfield biorefineries—one in Missouri and the other in California—using Haldor Topsoe’s HydroFlex™ technology to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The plan, according to Hirson, is to begin production in 2024 with combined SAF volumes from both facilities topping out at 154 million gallons a year.
The proposed plants are expected to accept a wide variety of feedstocks.
“These projects will source feedstocks from waste products to create low carbon-emission SAF for decades,” Hirson stated in a press release dated Jan. 6.
Biobased Diesel Daily reached out to Indaba Renewable Fuels for more information but Hirson had not responded by the time of publication.
