Squake partnership allows Nippon Express to offer customers CO2 insets

Squake, a leading platform for integrated emission management, announced Jan. 27 a strategic partnership with Nippon Express, a global leader in logistics and freight services, to help decarbonize transportation across air, sea and roads.
Customers with CO2 targets—whether driven by the Corporate Sustainability Recording Directive (EU), Science Based Targets initiative or client demands for sustainable operations—now have a practical solution to reduce their emissions, according to Squake.
Through Squake’s technology, this partnership enables Nippon Express customers to seamlessly access CO2 insetting solutions, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), sustainable marine fuel (SMF) and hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) to reduce emissions across all verticals.
Nippon Express plans to roll out these solutions not only for air transport but also for road and sea, ensuring a comprehensive approach to sustainability.
By combining the shared need for more sustainable transportation and sustainable fuels in both logistics and travel sectors, Squake can leverage its network to offer competitive pricing for emission insetting.
Squake said together with Nippon Express they are setting a new standard for sustainability—one that prioritizes action, transparency and measurable outcomes.
“By partnering and integrating our solutions with Nippon Express, we’re empowering businesses to make progress in their sustainability goals,” said Dan Kreibich, co-founder and chief product officer for Squake.
“Whether it’s leveraging SAF for air freight or SMF for maritime logistics, our technology ensures that more sustainable solutions are easily available and compliant with global regulations,” Kreibich said.
Anne Troost, the senior sustainability manager with Nippon Express, added, “This collaboration with Squake is an important milestone in our commitment to creating a more sustainable future. By integrating these CO2-insetting solutions, we are not only supporting our customers in reducing their emissions but also reinforcing our own commitment to decarbonizing global transportation.”
