South Carolina House of Representatives honors Green Energy Biofuel

Green Energy Biofuel LLC has been recognized by the South Carolina House of Representatives and Rep. Annie McDaniel through a House Resolution honoring the company’s outstanding contributions to sustainable waste management, economic development and environmental stewardship across the state.
A ceremony presenting the resolution was held July 9.
Headquartered in Fairfield County, South Carolina, Green Energy Biofuel has spent more than 18 years building one of the East Coast’s largest and most advanced biofuel feedstock-processing operations.
The company collects, processes and upcycles fats, oils, grease and other organic-waste streams, helping transform materials that would otherwise be discarded into valuable renewable energy resources.
The resolution recognizes Green Energy Biofuel’s ability to process more than 100 million pounds of organic materials annually while serving thousands of commercial and industrial customers throughout the Southeastern U.S.
The company’s recycled feedstocks play a vital role in supporting the production of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), strengthening domestic energy security and reducing dependence on foreign resources.
In addition to its environmental impact, Green Energy Biofuel has become a significant economic driver for South Carolina.
The company operates multiple processing facilities across the state and neighboring regions, including major operations in Winnsboro, Elgin and Warrenville.
It employs more than 40 full-time team members in South Carolina, offers comprehensive employee benefits, and has invested millions of dollars in infrastructure to support continued growth.
The resolution also highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability by diverting millions of pounds of organic waste from landfills each year and converting those materials into renewable biofuel feedstocks and compost, advancing a circular economy that benefits both local communities and the environment.
Green Energy Biofuel’s commitment to excellence has earned numerous state and industry honors, including the South Carolina Ambassador of Economic Development Award presented by then-Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Business of the Year Award, the South Carolina Manufacturing Alliance’s Innovator of the Year Award and the Carolina Recycling Association’s Recycler of the Year Award.
The company has also been recognized as one of South Carolina’s best places to work.
The South Carolina House of Representatives commended Green Energy Biofuel for demonstrating how private enterprise can successfully combine economic growth with environmental responsibility while continuing to invest in innovation, expansion and strategic partnerships that strengthen South Carolina’s leadership in the renewable energy and sustainable waste-management industries.
The House Resolution concludes by formally recognizing and honoring Green Energy Biofuel LLC for its exceptional service to the state of South Carolina and directing that a copy of the resolution be presented to the company’s leadership team.
