SAF One, a platform focused on the development of global sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) solutions, announced Jan. 13 the acquisition of Green Biotrade, a feedstock and biofuels trading company based in the United Arab Emirates.

This strategic acquisition will strengthen SAF One’s supply-chain capabilities and secure critical feedstock for its SAF projects.

“Our acquisition of Green Biotrade represents a significant milestone in our mission to accelerate SAF production,” said Deepak Munganahalli, the co-founder and director at SAF One.

“By integrating Green Biotrade’s extensive trading expertise and robust feedstock network, we are enhancing our ability to source, secure and manage the critical biomass resources essential for our SAF production,” Munganahalli added. “This move underscores our commitment to building a comprehensive and resilient supply chain that can support the growing demand for clean aviation fuels.”

Hani Samsam, the CEO and founder of Green Biotrade, stated, “Joining SAF One marks an exciting new chapter for our team. Our deep understanding of biomass trading and sourcing aligns perfectly with SAF One’s vision of transforming the aviation industry’s approach to sustainable fuel. This integration will also allow us to grow and expand our capabilities in feedstock and biofuels, enabling us to further drive innovation and contribute more broadly to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.”

SAF One Energy Management Ltd., registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre, is a platform focused on delivering SAF to the global aviation industry.

SAF One’s mission is to provide innovative solutions with the aim to reduce carbon emissions and support the transition to a more sustainable future for aviation.
