Revo International Co. Ltd. announced April 22 that it held a completion ceremony April 18 at its newly constructed Aichi factory in Tahara City, Japan, to mark the completion of its manufacturing facilities for “C-Fuel,” a biodiesel fuel made from used cooking oil, as well as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO)—also known as renewable diesel—and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
This pilot facility will begin full-scale production of SAF this month using its proprietary patented manufacturing method, what Revo said is “the first of its kind in the world.”

According to Revo’s website, the new Aichi pilot factory has the capacity to produce 30,000 liters per day (approximately 2.7 million gallons per year) of C-Fuel biodiesel and 480 liters per day of HVO and SAF (more than 43,000 gallons).
At the company’s Kyoto factory, Revo has the capacity to manufacture about 2.7 million gallons of C-Fuel biodiesel per year.
The Sakai refinery’s SAF production unit, which was recently completed as a joint-venture project between Cosmo Energy Group, JGC Holdings Corp. and Revo International known as Saffaire Sky Energy, is scaled to produce 30 million liters (nearly 8 million gallons) per year.

The completion ceremony was attended by Tahara City Mayor Masayoshi Yamashita, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, local government and companies.
Revo company representative Koshigawa stated his determination to “disseminate a sustainable resource-circulation model from here in Aichi, and to achieve technological innovation that can be used both domestically and internationally and environmental contributions.”
A celebration party was also held after the ceremony, during which there was an active exchange of opinions about the future of domestically produced SAF with local residents and partner companies.
