Malinen to take over Oct. 15 as Neste’s new president, CEO
Following Neste Corp.’s announcement earlier this year that the company’s board of directors has appointed Heikki Malinen as the new president and CEO of Neste, the company announced Sept. 2 that Malinen will assume the new role beginning Oct. 15.
He succeeds Matti Lehmus, who will continue as the president and CEO of Neste through Oct. 14 and then act as an advisor to the company and its management until mid-November to ensure a smooth transition.
“Heikki has a strong track record of successfully leading international businesses and creating stakeholder value even in challenging market conditions,” said Matti Kähkönen, Neste’s board chair.
“During his career, he has built high-performing teams that have significantly improved business performance,” Kähkönen added. “I believe that he is the best possible CEO for Neste right now and I wish him success in his new demanding role.”
On behalf of the entire board, Kähkönen thanked Lehmus, who has led the company with great commitment.
“Matti has had a long career at Neste and over the years he has had a substantial contribution to the company’s development, especially in renewable products,” Kähkönen said. “I wish Matti all the best in his future endeavors.”
