Japanese companies form organization to promote domestic SAF industry
JGC Holdings Corp. announced in early March that it and three other Japanese companies have founded “Act for Sky,” a voluntary organization working for commercialization, promotion and expansion of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) domestically produced in Japan. Joining JGC Holdings, the other founding members are Revo International Inc., All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd., and Japan Airlines Co. Ltd.
According to JGC Holdings, the organization “will aim to raise awareness among citizens and companies of the importance of SAF, carbon neutrality and achieving a circular economy.”
The companies state that “a stable supply of domestically produced SAF is considered essential in Japan. However, domestically produced SAF has not been commercialized yet, and establishing stable supply chain, from procurement of feedstock to supply of SAF, remains an urgent issue.”
