Howden to supply compressors for Shell’s renewable diesel, SAF plant in Rotterdam

Howden will supply compressors for Royal Dutch Shell’s renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant planned for Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the company announced Oct. 27. The project, being scaled at 275 million gallons per year, will be located at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park, formerly known as the Pernis refinery.

“We are delighted to strengthen our long-standing relationship with Shell and support its plans of making more low-carbon fuels available in the market,” said Melle Kruisdijk, managing director of Howden’s Thomassen Compressor range. “This project demonstrates Howden’s leadership in the global compression market and our expertise in the growing sustainable fuel market.”
