FlyORO Technologies Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based SAF blending technology company, and Menzies Aviation, a leading service partner to the world’s airports and airlines, announced June 30 the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore solutions aiming to enhance SAF distribution through Menzies’ expertise in aviation-fuels management.
Under the MoU, FlyORO will assess deployment opportunities for FlyORO’s AlphaLite blending platform adjacent to airport fuel infrastructure with the support of Menzies’ technical experience and background in fuel-farm management and into-plane fueling.
The collaboration is designed to deploy and enable blending capacity in compliance with the highest aviation fuel standard, with the goal to make sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) available where and when it is needed, through FlyORO flexible and capital-light technology.
The partnership arrives at a critical moment for the aviation industry.
The International Air Transport Association has identified infrastructure readiness as a central enabler of SAF scale-up, with its “Energy and New Fuels Infrastructure Net-Zero Roadmap” highlighting the need for expanded SAF blending and distribution capacity.
Today, most airports lack supply-chain infrastructure options to blend, store and deliver SAF, particularly novel pathways such as eSAF—creating an access-flexibility gap between where SAF is produced and where it can actually be used.
This is relevant as mandates such as ReFuelEU aviation and the U.K. SAF mandate are accelerating industry demand.
“Scaling SAF is no longer just a production challenge, it is increasingly a supply chain and infrastructure one,” said Damian Mc Loughlin, FlyORO’s chief commercial officer. “This collaboration combines FlyORO’s TRL 9 blending technology with Menzies’ expertise to open a more practical path for SAF to reach the airports and airlines that need it. We are proud to be working alongside Menzies to help address one of aviation’s most critical infrastructure gaps.”
Marco di Mario, Menzies’ executive vice president of fuels, added, “We are focused on supporting the safe and efficient growth of sustainable aviation fuel across the industry. By working with FlyORO, we have an opportunity to explore how innovative blending technologies can strengthen fuel infrastructure and help make SAF more widely available in compliance with the highest industry standard. Our role will be to make SAF operations run smoothly through operational and safety excellence.”
FlyORO said it and Menzies are combining complementary strengths to make SAF a real option at airports across Europe.
FlyORO brings its AlphaLite modular-blending technology, already operating at technology-readiness level 9 (TRL-9) following its commercial deployment in Australia, alongside end-to-end expertise in SAF supply-chain design, quality assurance and traceability.
Menzies Aviation contributes recognized expertise in safety and aviation-fuel handling.
Both parties see the partnership as a foundation for potential long-term cooperation, supporting customer demand for more accessible, compliant, traceable and cost-efficient SAF delivery.
