Erawan Group signs UCO agreement with Bangchak, BSGF for SAF production

The Thai hospitality company Erawan Group recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Bangchak Corp. and the Bangchak joint venture BSGF on the management of used cooking oil (UCO).
This “Fry to Fly” initiative aims to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from UCO collected from Erawan’s properties and supply continuously to BSGF.
Under this collaboration, Erawan will encourage hotels, resorts and businesses under its management to sell UCO to BSGF through the initiative to be converted into SAF.
This low-carbon aviation fuel can reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by over 80 percent compared to current aviation fuels, aligning with sustainability management goals and helping to mitigate the impact of climate change.
This partnership not only reduces carbon emissions into the atmosphere but also promotes systematic management of UCO, preventing it from being reused or improperly disposed of, which benefits both consumer health and the environment.
During the same event, the hotels involved in this MOU were awarded a “No Refry” certificate.
Erawan said this initiative reflects its commitment to providing international-standard hotel services while also being socially and environmentally responsible, contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
