AGQM opens 2025 round-robin test registration for biodiesel, vegetable oils, UCO

AGQM

The German biodiesel quality management association (AGQM) is inviting participants to join the 2025 round-robin tests for biodiesel, vegetable oils and used cooking oil (UCO).

Registration is open until Feb. 19.

In cooperation with the DIN Technical Committee for Mineral Oil and Fuel Standardization (FAM), AGQM offers the world’s most comprehensive round-robin tests for fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) biodiesel, vegetable oils and UCO.

The modular structure of the round-robin tests allows participants to select the test parameters that are of interest to them and, as a result, avoid unnecessary costs.

A total of 124 different parameters are offered in the eight round-robin test parts.

Typically more than 50 laboratories worldwide take part in the tests.

The main part of the biodiesel round-robin tests comprises the parameters defined in the 36th BImSchV in accordance with EN 14214 and supplementary test parameters such as pour point and saturated monoglycerides.

In the other independent round-robin test parts, the parameters of oxidation stability—additionally offered at 120-degrees Celsius for the first time in 2025—methanol, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), total contamination and cetane number can be analyzed.

Particularly noteworthy is the round-robin test for vegetable oils and UCO, which includes the analysis in accordance with DIN 51623 and EN 14214.

This analysis is essential for quality assurance in raw-material control, as oils are also used as starting materials for the production of biodiesel and other products.

“Participation in our round-robin tests enables laboratories to put their analytical competence to the test and gain valuable insights,” said Jannes Gehl, AGQM’s quality manager. “This year, we have expanded the scope of the tests once again and introduced new parameters that are tailored to the needs of our participants.”

After completing the round-robin tests, all participants receive a detailed, anonymized evaluation report and a certificate as proof of their analytical competence.

Labs can benefit from this unique opportunity to optimize their analytics and compare themselves internationally, according to AGQM.

Register by Feb. 19 here.

Additional information on the round-robin tests can be found on the AGQM website or requested at info@agqm-biodiesel.de.
