EcoEngineers hires senior petroleum advisor in Houston to help oil cos. lower carbon footprint

EcoEngineers announced in late February the hiring of Kristine Klavers, a senior advisor to the petroleum industry, to anchor the company’s Houston, Texas, presence. Klavers will act as EcoEngineers’ managing director of the Houston division and will lead the company’s advisory services to the oil and gas sector.

Klavers

Klavers, a chemical engineer by training, spent the early part of her career in refining design and fuels operations. Subsequently, she built the global consulting operations for Hart Energy and was a publisher for their Fuel magazine. Prior to joining EcoEngineers, Klavers led the Americas Consulting Team for Argus Media for six years.

The petroleum sector has been besieged with calls to reduce its carbon footprint and demonstrate a commercial pathway for the energy transition. Klavers will lead EcoEngineers’ strategic advisory services to the petroleum sector and support it in understanding, measuring, monitoring, reporting, and verifying its progress toward lower-carbon solutions. This includes the industry’s upstream, midstream and downstream operations while also offering cleaner products to its customers.

“We are thrilled to have Kristine join the Eco family,” said Shashi Menon, CEO of EcoEngineers. “Her leadership, proven track record in growing a consulting practice, and passion for fuel decarbonization are superbly aligned with Eco’s vision. Right now, there are great opportunities for the oil and gas sector to incrementally decarbonize and improve its long-term competitive position. Kristine is the right person to carry this vision. Houston is an important center of the new carbon economy, and we are very excited to have her represent our brand in Houston.”

As the global energy markets pivot to offering decarbonized products and solutions, EcoEngineers’ client base spans upstream, midstream and downstream suppliers of fossil and alternate fuel providers and associated industries.
