Inpex Corp. announced March 6 that it was supplying a blend of 40 percent renewable diesel (RD40) to power snow groomers and other course-maintenance vehicles at two major snowboard halfpipe competitions held in Sapporo, Japan.
The RD40, which can be used by diesel-powered vehicles without modification, offering enhanced operational flexibility, was supplied through Inpex’s wholly owned subsidiary Inpex Japan Ltd. to support the following events:
International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup Halfpipe 2026 Sapporo (Ban-K).
Ski Association of Japan 32nd All Japan Ski Championships Snowboard Halfpipe.
Both events were held at Sapporo Bankei Ski Area in Chuo-ku, Sapporo.
The RD40 supplied for these events was manufactured domestically by Itochu Enex Co. Ltd.
By supplying RD40 to both events, Inpex said it aims to contribute to the reduction of environmental impact associated with the operation of winter-sports events.
Going forward, Inpex said it will continue to promote the wider adoption of renewable fuels, with a view to expanding the supply of low-carbon fuel for vehicles and equipment used at events and other applications.
