60 companies support goal for SAF to be 10% of global jet-fuel market by 2030

The World Economic Forum announced Sept. 22 that 60 companies in its Clean Skies for Tomorrow Coalition have signed the 2030 Ambition Statement to support accelerating supply and use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to reach 10 percent of the global jet-fuel market by 2030—a key milestone for the sector in achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Companies signing the pact include airlines, airports, fuel suppliers and other global companies.

“Achieving our ambition will require commitment, innovation and cross-industry collaboration from a wide range of stakeholders,” said Lauren Uppink Calderwood, head of aviation, travel and tourism at the World Economic Forum. “We are calling on governments, international organizations and others to work with us to take important steps forward through new policies, targeted investments and regulations that create a level playing field while incentivizing transformation.”
